Free Meal Program
Rogers Public Schools is offering free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and younger Monday through Friday May 21-Aug. 10, thanks to a federally funded program. The meals are served at Heritage High School (1114 S. Fifth St.) and Old Wire Road Elementary (3001 S. Old Wire Road) 8-8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Adults accompanying children may purchase breakfast and lunch.

Mark your calendar, our next Project Graduation meeting is on February 13th in the lecture hall from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.  See you there!

·         Make May 18, 2012 a night to remember and attend Project Graduation. Project graduation is an all night drug and alcohol free "lock-in" party. It will be held at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale, AR. Graduates will meet in RHS Commons by 11:00 PM immediately following graduation.  Buses will take graduates to the Jones Center and return between 4-5 A.M. Food and snacks will be served all night long. Attendees should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. If you plan on swimming, bring a swimsuit and a towel. Students who plan on ice skating should bring socks. Students will not need money to participate in the activities. 

Here are a few of the planned activities: dancing, swimming, ice skating, a "play money" casino, laser tag, video games, basketball, volleyball, a mechanical bull and much more! There will be CASH & PRIZE giveaways all night!!! Increase your chances to win by helping with fundraisers and registering early.  THE EARLIER YOU REGISTER THE MORE TICKETS YOU GET TOWARD PRIZES AND CASH! In order to register drop off a registration form and $20 in room 2016 at RHS by April 15, 2012. The registration fee goes up to $25 after April 15, 2012. Seniors can register on the day of Project Graduation, however to ensure that you receive the proper t-shirt size make sure you register by May 1, 2012.

Please congratulate Chandler Buckingham for recieveing the Alexander Hamilton Citizenship Achievement Award.  The purpose of the Hamilton Award is to recognize high school students for their academic, personal, service and entrepreneurial achievements and to select students for the Hamilton Leaders Academy.

Please congratulate Kaitlin Rhodes, Katie Humphries and Meredith Breach on being National finalists at the
DECA conference. Meredith Breach is also the National Champion in the food marketing event.

Please congratulate Dakota Phillips for being a 2012 Ford/AAA Student Skills "Hands-on" Contest state champion.  Dakota was on a team that placed first out of 10 teams who competed in the contest at the Mark Martin Museum in Batesville, AR on Saturday, April 28th. Dakota will be representing Arkansas and RHS in the national contest that will be held at the world headquarters of Ford Motor Co. in Deerborn, MI, June 10-13, 2012.  In addition to winning the “Hands-on” contest the team received clothing and tools, plus$32,500 in automotive scholarships from the following colleges around the country: OSU-Okmulgee, Ohio Technical College, Universal Technical Institute, Nashville Auto/Diesel College, and Ranken Technical College. 


Please congratulate Tiffany Tanag on her 1st place finish at the NCTM State Algebra II Competion. 

Congratulations to the RHSTV staff!  The RHSTV staff competed in the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association competition. They earned a Superior award for Best of ASPA for Daily News.   The staff also earned a Superior award for a human interest piece they submitted. In addition to the previous awards, RHSTV also received four excellent ratings and one honorable mention.  The RHSTV program as a whole earned a General Excellence award.

Please congratulate the newspaper and yearbook staffs on continuing a winning tradition at the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association competition. The combined staffs brought home 7 superior awards. Two of which were named Best Of ASPA (best in the state). Christian DeJesus and Laura Ortega, both rookie reporters, took home that distinction. The staffs also earned 23 excellent awards and 5 honorable mentions.

The newspaper was awarded excellent in the General Excellence category, and the yearbook (last year's publication) earned All-Arkansas status, the highest award given.
 
Amanda Ayers won 2 superiors, 2 excellents,  first place in on-site competition, and received first place in the Arkansas Women's Press Assoication for her review writing. Her review will automatically be submitted for national competition.
